Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dubai Livin (“we”, “us”, “our”), a Dubai living, real estate and travel guide, collects, uses, stores and shares personal data when you visit www.dubailivin.com.
We process personal data in line with United Arab Emirates Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL). If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we also honour the rights described under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, as set out below.
Contact for privacy and data requests: chat@dubailivin.com.
Who we are
Controller: Dubai Livin.
Address: Al Fosool Street, Barsha Heights (Tecom), Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Privacy contact: chat@dubailivin.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers personal data processed through:
- browsing the website and reading articles;
- cookies and similar technologies;
- contact forms and newsletter signup;
- comments on posts (where enabled);
- analytics and advertising tags;
- affiliate link tracking;
- links to third-party sites.
Personal data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact and newsletter forms: name, email address, and any message you send. The site uses Contact Form 7 and Elementor forms, and Mailchimp for WordPress for newsletter signup.
- Comments: name, email, website (optional), and comment text, if you leave a comment on a post. WordPress stores this with your IP address and browser user agent for spam control.
- Email correspondence: any personal data you include when you email us at chat@dubailivin.com or another published Dubai Livin address.
Data collected automatically
- Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, referral URL, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below. The site uses Complianz for cookie consent and LiteSpeed Cache for performance.
How we use personal data
- to operate, secure and improve the website;
- to answer enquiries and send newsletters you request;
- to moderate comments and prevent spam and abuse;
- to measure traffic and content performance (analytics);
- to measure advertising and conversion events where Google Ads tags are active;
- to attribute affiliate referrals when you click affiliate links;
- to comply with UAE law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal data.
Legal bases (PDPL and, where applicable, GDPR)
- Consent: non-essential cookies, newsletter signup, and optional marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract / pre-contract steps: answering a request you send us.
- Legitimate interest / PDPL equivalent grounds: securing the site, basic analytics needed to run the service, fraud prevention, and measuring affiliate referrals — balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: where UAE law requires retention or disclosure.
If you submit a form that asks us to introduce you to a broker, mortgage adviser or similar partner, we share only what is needed to fulfil that request, and that partner becomes responsible for how they use your data under their own privacy notice.
Cookies and tracking technologies
On first visit, Complianz presents a cookie banner so you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies. Essential cookies (for security, consent storage and basic site function) may be set without marketing consent.
As of 5 October 2026, the public site uses or loads the following categories of tools:
- Google Site Kit and a Google tag (
GT-WFFKJ9TW) — site measurement and Google service connections, including Google Analytics. - Google Analytics — traffic and engagement measurement.
- Google Ads — conversion and campaign measurement (tag
AW-1797119986observed on the live site). - LiteSpeed Cache — performance and caching.
- Complianz — stores your cookie preference.
- Mailchimp for WordPress — newsletter form scripts when that form is present.
- Contact Form 7 / Elementor — form scripts; Google reCAPTCHA may load on forms to reduce spam.
- Affiliate tracking: when you click an affiliate link, the merchant or affiliate network may set cookies or read a click ID so a commission can be attributed if you later complete a purchase or signup. Those cookies are controlled by the third party under their own policies.
- Rank Math SEO — SEO metadata (not an advertising tracker).
You can change cookie choices via the Complianz banner or cookie settings link, and via your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google services (via Site Kit, Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand which pages are used and to measure campaigns. Google may process data on servers outside the UAE. See Google’s privacy policy for details of its processing.
We do not run third-party content recommendation networks (such as Taboola or Outbrain) on the pages checked for this policy.
Newsletter
If you subscribe via the Mailchimp for WordPress form, your email is stored by Mailchimp (Intuit) to send the Dubai Livin newsletter. You can unsubscribe using the link in every email.
Comments
Comments are collected through the standard WordPress comment system. Your name and comment may be published on the site. We may reject or remove spam, abusive or unlawful comments.
Affiliate links and tracking
Some articles contain affiliate links to products or services (for example banking, travel or other partners). If you click those links, affiliate networks or merchants may set cookies or use similar technologies to record that the visit came from Dubai Livin. If you then buy or sign up, we may earn a commission. Affiliate tracking does not change the price you pay. How commissions relate to our editorial decisions is explained in our Terms of Use and Editorial Policy.
Who we share data with
- Service providers: web hosting and caching (including LiteSpeed), Google (Site Kit, Analytics, Ads, reCAPTCHA), Mailchimp, form and security plugins, and Complianz.
- Affiliate networks and merchants: limited click and conversion data needed to attribute a referral when you use an affiliate link.
- Partners you ask us to contact: if a form requests an introduction to a third party, we share the details needed for that introduction.
- Professional advisers and authorities: where required by UAE law or to protect our legal rights.
We require processors to use data only on our instructions and with appropriate security.
International transfers
Some providers (including Google and Mailchimp, and many affiliate networks) process data outside the UAE. Where PDPL requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses, adequacy decisions or other mechanisms permitted under applicable law.
How long we keep data
- contact form messages: for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted or anonymised;
- newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, then for a short suppression period so we do not email you again by mistake;
- comments: for as long as the comment remains published, unless you request erasure and we can comply;
- server and security logs: for a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting;
- analytics: according to the retention settings configured in Google Analytics;
- affiliate attribution records: according to the relevant network’s reporting cycle and our accounting needs.
Security
We use HTTPS, access controls and standard WordPress security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure.
Children
The site is aimed at adults interested in living, renting, buying or visiting Dubai. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us at chat@dubailivin.com and we will delete it.
Your rights under UAE PDPL
Subject to PDPL conditions and exceptions, you may request to:
- access your personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure or restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- request information about processing and sharing.
Send requests to chat@dubailivin.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or another competent authority under PDPL.
Rights for EEA, UK and Swiss visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you also have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We will honour these rights for EU/UK personal data we control, even though our primary establishment is in the UAE.
Third-party links
Articles may link to Dubai Land Department, RERA, banks, developers, affiliate merchants and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies before providing data.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site or by email if appropriate.
